Sound healing is a modality that uses vibrational sound to help reduce stress, induce deep feelings of relaxation and even achieve alternative states of consciousness. The process works by helping shift our brains from their normal, waking “beta” frequency to the slower “alpha” and “theta” frequencies that correspond to deep states of relaxation, intuition, reverie and meditation. Participants simply have to wear comfortable clothing and lie down on a mat. The sound healer will then generate a variety of harmonic and therapeutic sounds using a range of percussive and brass instruments. On occasion, the sound healer may guide participants through breathing and vocal toning exercises in order to deepen the benefits of the session.
