The White Space Wellness 100 Hour Weekend Meditation Teacher Training Intensive is a four-weekend module designed for individuals who wish to cultivate or deepen a meditation practice or even begin leading the practice for others. Yoga teachers who complete this course can also credit its 100 hours as part of the White Space Wellness 300 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program.
All modules are scheduled on weekends, allowing participants with full-time commitments to jobs or families to pursue their passion for meditation and even share its gift with others.
- MEDITATION AND SCIENCE. Over the last five decades, more than a thousand publications have documented the manifold physiological and psychological benefits of meditation, from boosting immunity and increasing longevity to enhancing mental acuity and improving emotional resilience. In this module, participants will explore findings from classic disciplines such as anthropology, biology, psychology and sociology and multidisciplinary fields such as cognitive neuroscience, evolutionary biology, interpersonal neurobiology and even neurotheology to gain a comprehensive and detailed overview of how the practice of meditation transforms human lives by literally changing the structure and the function of the human brain. By understanding the science behind the practice, students can begin designing powerful and innovative ways of extending the benefits of meditation beyond the cushion and into the world.
- MEDITATION AND SPIRITUALITY. While the science about it and around it is relatively recent, meditation itself has been around for thousands of years with roots reaching back into humanity’s prehistory. Although the practice has correlates in all major wisdom traditions, meditation as a formal system was developed out of the spiritual traditions of ancient India. In this module, participants will explore the cultural and religious context out of which meditation evolved and how its practices were formalized in Hindu and Buddhist thought. By understanding the spirituality behind the practice, students can begin recognizing the profound relevance and significance of this ancient method for contemporary times.
- MEDITATION AND PRACTICE. As the popularity of meditation increases, so does the number of its applications and techniques—with significant consequences on the effectiveness of the practice. In this module, participants will experience the major formal and informal techniques of meditation and learn to distinguish when a practice is authentically meditative in nature and when it is not. By understanding the essence of the practice, students can navigate effectively through the vast number of techniques available today and, more importantly, identify which technique can benefit and deepen their practice the most.
- MEDITATION AND TEACHING. As the relevance of meditation increases, do does the demand for people who can effectively teach or train others in its techniques. In this module, participants will learn how to introduce other people to the practice of meditation and to lead brief guided meditations using the most common methods. More importantly, participants will begin to appreciate how—unlike the teaching of other skills—the teaching of meditation demands that the teacher embody certain qualities that can only be cultivated by living life a certain way. By appreciating the ethics behind the practice, students can begin exploring how to live life so that the distinction between time spent on the cushion and off the cushion begins to disappear.

All module sessions begin at 8:00 am and end at 6:00 pm and each module's fee covers the course materials and certificate. Participants who wish to reserve a slot in the full program are required to make a nonrefundable deposit of PHP15,000.00 which entitles them to free access to all of the studio's public meditation classes for the duration of the course. Tuition fees can also be paid on installment upon the studio's discretion.
No previous meditation experience is required to participate in the course. However, individuals will derive much more from the course by gaining some meditation experience already. Eileen Tupaz is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of White Space Wellness, an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT500), a yoga teacher trainer, a meditation teacher and a university lecturer. She holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University with a focus on Eastern thought and combines an academic understanding of Hindu and Buddhist philosophies with a decade-old practice rooted in Vipassana, Yoga and Zen. When she’s not reading up on the world’s religions, Eileen spends her free time listening to neuroscience lectures and dharma talks. At work, she divides her time between teaching yoga, leading yoga teacher trainings and conducting meditation workshops. Eileen is well-known for her clear, systematic and often irreverent teaching style and her ability to convey abstract, complex or technical knowledge in a lucid and accessible manner.
