Kali refers to the traditional weapons-based martial arts of the Philippines which are also popularly known as arnis or eskrima. This physical and mental discipline focuses on fighting with blades, knives, sticks and other improvised weapons, but also includes hand-to-hand combat, disarming, grappling and locking techniques. Kali training provides a high intensity cardiovascular workout that tones the shoulders, arms and core while developing the practitioner's agility, balance, concentration, coordination, endurance, flexibility, speed, stamina and strength. White Space Wellness hosts 75 minute-long kali classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:15 pm. No previous martial arts experience is required to participate in a kali class.
